I'm the first person to admit that I am addicted to Ebay. There was a time when I'd get Ebay items in the mail nearly every weekday. I've settled down a bit since then, but I still collect Pez dispensers. One thing I've found for sure after using Ebay for many years is that giving people an opportunity to outbid you is a bad financial decision. :) I know there are a lot of sniping programs out there. Some run on your PC and others are web sites. The advantage of using a web service is that it doesn't depend on your Internet connection, or the stability of your PC. The web service logs into ebay as you and places the bid you specify on your behalf. It does this with such little time left in the auction that human's can't possibly see your bid fast enough and enter a new one before the auction ends. This is what is known as Sniping. Some people don't like it but hey, too bad for them I say. The service I've been using for the past few months is called BidNip.

Advantages:

• Very inexpensive compared to other sniping sites out there. ($.25 each at the time of this writing. Even cheaper if you buy a larger quantity)
• They charge a flat fee per snipe rather than a percentage depending on the cost of the item.
• You can earn free snipes by referring other people to join.
• Very reliable, I haven't had a single problem with it yet.
• You only get charged for a snipe if you actually win the item. If you get outbid you keep your snipe and can try again.
• You can buy more snipes via paypal.
• They give you a few free snipes to try it out.

Disadvantages:

• Like all other web site sniping services, you must store your ebay password on their server so they can place bids for you.
• hmm I really can't think of any others, this service just rocks!

Anyhow, I highly recommend that you give BidNip a try. They give you a handful of free snipes to begin with, so you can't really go wrong. If you want to win more auctions and save money, you NEED to be sniping, plain and simple.
