There have been countless stories about this lately. Microsoft plans to create a Live Office suite. Apparently this means Office will be a web application.
They may eventually move to a subscription model, which would not surprise me at all.
"Analysts said Microsoft needed to offer a Web version of its Office software -- including word processing and spreadsheets -- to counter a move by Google and Sun Microsystems on the open-source rival called OpenOffice developed by Sun."
This reminds me, what ever happend to .NET? It was supposed to be huge. The sad thing is nobody could even tell you what DOT NET was. Ok so there are people out there actually using C# to develop applications, but what is .NET?
Will this office live suffer the same "yeah whatever" reaction?
