Weapons of Mass Distraction3 million xbox 360 sales

Microsoft is reporting that they're expecting to sell 3 million xbox 360's in the first 3 months after release.  Unfortunately they don't say how many pre-orders they have been already. Most likely they have no idea.  They may be hesitant to release such numbers if they aren't impressive enough.

Many companies have reported that they have sold out their preorders already, but that isn't saying much.  Some stores aren't expected to get more than a dozen or two of the new game systems. 

When the original xbox came out I didn't want to order ahead of time due to the crazy bundle requirements.  Two days after it released I went and bought one of the bundles anyway because I couldn't wait any more. 

I just realized it was probably going to happen again this time so I began saving money for it months ago so it wouldn't be an issue.   During the first 30 days after the original xbox release I spent $1000 on games and hardware.  That is a pretty big chunk of money. :)

It doesn't matter to me, I have my 360 pre-order.  I'll be one of the geeks lined up at ebgames at midnight on release day.
