Weapons of Mass DistractionPhishing Scams gone wild

According to this story, Phishing scams have managed to swindle $929 MILLION dollars from people during 2004.

The latest scam was a site posing as Google, telling people they won some money.. just give us your credit card info and we'll credit it to your account, honest.  Oops!

NINE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS!)@($!.  Man there are some stupid people out there.  Apparently there are also some rich ones, who took all that money.

On the bright site, Microsoft is making some changes to Windows and Internet Explorer to make this kind of problem a lot less likely to happen.  I can't disclose details, but it should help people not get scammed by these bastards.

2.4 million people reported losing money directly due to phishing attacks.  That is a LOT of people.  I do feel sorry for them getting ripped off like that, but come on people, don't be dumb.

Rememeber kids, half the people in this world are dumber than the average person.
