Rich Jerk Loses out to better SEO

I regularly take a look at the Google Search results for "Rich Jerk" so I can see what my competition is doing. It amazes me that I often see sites bouncing around in the top 10 for Rich Jerk that have absolutly nothing to do with it content-wise. They don't seem to be cloaking or doing anything shady that I can see, but when you go to their site their page consists of nothing more than a huge (affiliate) link to the rich jerk's site. They must have quite a strong collection of incoming links pointing to that article to pull that off without actual content on their article.

As I was checking the search results just now I saw that the "Thank you Rich Jerk" lady's site has overtaken the official jerk's site as #1 on Google. Up until this point I had decided against trying to compete for the #1 spot against the official site, but this seems to have opened up some opportunities. You can be sure the jerk himself will proceed to spend some money to promote his site so it is a strong #1 once again. This other site may not stick as the top result, but just the fact that it made it there at all leads me to believe that it is possible.

So, should I try to take over the #1 spot on Google for Rich Jerk? We shall see.
